Today, while I crunched my abs on my sister’s Ab Lounge, I had the TV on watching the only channel we get, therefore watching the rich-woman-targeted show The View. I was turned off simply by who the target audience is. Their focus is on looking good, whether it’s fake or not and no matter how much it will cost financially or socially. It was rather sickening.

In the opening segment they discussed the recent occurrences of Mel Gibson stating racial slurs against Jews. One of the ladies proceeded to quote other statements out of context that Gibson had made, then stating that he’s not being a very good Christian. I was enraged by the fact that they were judging without evening knowing the whole story. Personally, it upsets me to hear Gibson make such racist comments, but he was drunk… could have been joking… and also he could have been referring to the war going on in the Middle East right now where Israel is senselessly killing civilians with new deaths every day. Either way, these ladies don’t know what they’re talking about. Unfortunately, who knows how many women in North America form their opinions based on this show.

To top it off, one of their guests, an author, made shocking statements that truly revealed where our society is and where it is heading. She seemed to be urging women to think about divorce before they even get married stating, “Don’t marry a man you wouldn’t want to be divorced from.” She was trying to say that you should consider what type of man you are marrying and what they would be like when you divorce and whether that would be a pleasant relationship with him or not.

It was disgusting! Plan for failure? I guess divorce is so common today that you need to… at least if you’re a member of The View.

Since returning from Kenya where I resided for a year, TV shows like this that promote immorality and unfaithfulness and lack of commitment and frivolous spending and judgmental, uninformed statements–they make me sick and I can’t believe people actually watch this garbage.

Now I will be on the lookout for more of this type of garbage television. Shouldn’t be too hard to find.

  1. I hate “The View” too.

  2. If I have to hear Rosie drone on about her HATRED of this government one more time – I will throw up! Go live somewhere else Rosie, Joy and Barbara – good writtens! Freedom of speach, they are so lucky to have it -

  3. Yeah, I hate the View too. They have all completely lost their minds. Maybe if Rosie would shut her fat trap and reliquish her belief that she knows EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING and her lesbo ass should be the moral compass for young Americans, less people would hate her.

i can’t stand The View. joy and rosie are always screaming “we are a democracy!”. hmmmmm i thought we were a republic.

  5. I saw that episode Trevor. I actually thought that point about mrrying someone you would want to divorce was actually a good point. It got me thinking because so many people marry the “on your best behavior” person that they believe would never do anything wrong or whatever. Who a person is in adversity, with their enemies, when they are wronged is probably a truer reflection of their character don’t you think?

Anyways…just my two cents or so. Hope you are doing well at school – not much longer now and then a new chapter begins!

  6. I think I see your reasoning Cheryl. But I don’t think that was the point of the comment. It’s greatly lacking in the amount of commitment needed for a marriage. If you want to know what they are like in the adversity, why not consider such things in the parentheses an affair or absenteeism instead of going straight to divorce talk? Instead of talking about marrying someone you could see yourself divorced to, why not talk about marrying someone you could see yourself remaining committed too in the midst of diversity?

  7. I hate The View. What a waste of money and time.
What a bunch of Jerks, just showing their asses day in a nd day out. I wish the show were canceled.

  8. “but he was drunk”

Oh, sure, using this logic we can absolve Hitler of his crimes due to heavy amphetamine use.

Your a disgrace to your religion…..oops, sorry, I had too much coffee, surely you will excuse my actions on behalf of my caffeine consumption.

  9. i hate the veiw because the jonas brother have never been on it so gettHE JONAS BROTHERS ON THE VEIW NOW!!!!

  10. Opinionated women. All they do is argue. An issue goes to another issue and so on until the original argument is forgotten and Whoppie steps in, says a “deep meaningful” words and the girls agree and the audience claps. Happens every episode. Toilet Television! Nothing gets resolved or understood on the view, and the audience just cheers and claps…

  11. Oh, I am so referencing this in my next blog post. I hate The View too. I wish it would get canceled, but since the liberals just love having idiot rich women claiming to be the “voice of the people”, that’s not likely to happen.
